Λουης Καφενιο (Louis Cafe)

Λουης Καφενιο, a neighborhood cafe with a friendly, old-world atmosphere, aimed to capture its unique spirit in its print materials. Our goal was to create a visual identity that paid tribute to the cafe's roots while feeling fresh and relevant. The scope included designing posters and a variety of everyday printed materials, each element crafted to reflect its vintage, neighborhood charm.

Our direction followed an aesthetic inspired by post-war 50s design: a delicate and nostalgic feel, dressed in a modern print finish. We brought together form and function to reflect the dual nature of the brand—a classic Greek cafe with a contemporary edge.

Design Concept
The visual identity of Λουης Καφενιο is composed of two key elements:
A timeless, hand-drawn illustration—symbolizing community, history, and warmth—and a rustic, elegant typography. The design provides a visual anchor, communicating the cafe's authentic and welcoming foundation.

The typography uses a serif typeface chosen for its classic elegance and approachable tone. Its refined curves and nostalgic form mirror the values of tradition, comfort, and community.

The color palette combines warm terracotta, deep olive green, and creamy off-white, harmonized with rich black. This blend speaks to both the rustic trustworthiness and the heartfelt character of the cafe.

Digital & Print Integration
A crucial aspect of the project was building a seamless bridge between a classic aesthetic and modern production techniques.

To achieve this, we designed the print materials with a vintage flair but used modern printing methods to ensure crisp lines and vibrant colors. These materials act as tactile touchpoints, extending the physical presence of the brand to its patrons.

The printed materials follow the same principle: they are warm and minimal, serving as tangible reminders of the cafe’s unique ambiance.

We created a cohesive, timeless brand system for Λουης Καφενιο—one that balances tradition with modern precision. Through visual identity and thoughtful print design, we positioned the cafe as a trustworthy, authentic, and beloved neighborhood institution.
