NOYNOY Gouda Nistikes Apostoles

We were commissioned to design and animate 2D characters for the NOYNOY Gouda's "Nistikes Apostoles" campaign. This online game, targeting both kids and adults, challenges players to help "Investigator Gouda" solve mysteries by finding clues and identifying suspects. Our goal was to create expressive and memorable characters for this engaging, interactive experience.

Our direction followed a simple yet powerful brief: big expressive eyes. We brought together playful, hand-drawn character design and dynamic animation to reflect the fun and inquisitive nature of the game.

Design Concept
The characters are designed to be approachable and visually distinct, each embodying their family's unique personality. The primary design element, the big expressive eyes, gives them a relatable and curious tone, mirroring the game's mystery-solving theme.

The visual style uses a vibrant, cartoon-like aesthetic, chosen for its friendly and engaging appeal. The smooth, hand-drawn lines and bold color choices mirror the values of fun, family, and curiosity.

The color palette is bright and inviting, harmonized with a playful style. This blend speaks to both the entertainment value and the wholesome energy of the NOYNOY Gouda brand.

Digital & Animation Integration
A crucial aspect of the project was building a seamless connection between the static character designs and their animated presence.

To achieve this, we designed the characters to be easily animated, bringing them to life for the "Back to School" video bumper. These animations connect the brand's physical presence (on TV) with its digital functionality (the online game).

The animated elements follow the same principle: dynamic and minimal, with motion that supports the narrative and enhances the characters' personalities.

Outcome
We created a cohesive, future-facing set of characters for NOYNOY Gouda—one that balances playful expression with functional design. Through 2D character design and thoughtful animation, we positioned the game as a fun, memorable experience for its audience.
